A new interactive exhibition in W5 at the Odyssey has just opened, which aims to introduce children and young people to some of the work of astronomers at the Astrophysics Research Centre of Queen's University Belfast. “Lasertag W5: Planet Quest” explores infrared light, and in particular how it is used by astronomers in Belfast to carry out cutting-edge research such as finding exploding stars, and studying alien worlds. After finding out about infrared light, the experience finishes with an exciting game of Laser Tag!
Morgan Fraser (left) and Paul McDaid from the Astrophysics Research Centre at QUB will be participating in some of these events. They will be explaining how they use infrared observations in their day to day work.
